Statutory Sick Pay

SSP (If the employee's average earnings before deductions such as tax and National Insurance are equal to or more than the lower earnings limit)  

 Statutory Sick Pay £86.70 per week from 6th April 2013

Statutory Maternity / Adoption Pay (SM/AP) 
SMP is paid for 39 weeks from 7th April 2013

First six weeks:

90 % of the employee’s average weekly earnings, with no upper limit 
(subject to qualifying conditions)

Remaining 33 weeks

£136.78 or 90% of average weekly earnings if the 90% rate is less than £136.78 (subject to qualifying conditions)

Statutory Paternity Partners Pay (SPP) 
SPP is paid for two weeks 7th April 2013

One or two weeks ordinary paternity leave

£136.78 or 90% (per week) of the employee’s average weekly earnings if the 90% rate is less than £136.78 (subject to qualifying conditions)

Up to six months' additional paternity leave

£136.78 or 90% (per week) of the employee’s average weekly earnings if the 90% rate is less than £136.78 (subject to qualifying conditions)

Minimum Wage Hourly Rates 

Added rate (aged 21 years or over)

£6.19 per hour

Development Rate (18 – 20 years old)

£4-98 per hour

Youth Rate (16 to 17 year olds)

£3-68 per hour

Apprentice rate
The apprentice rate applies to those apprentices who are under 19, and those that are aged 19 and over but in the first year of their apprenticeship.

£2-65 per hour

Accommodation offset

£4-82 per hour

Statutory Redundancy Pay 
 (Minimum qualification is two years’ continuous service with the same employer )

22 years and under

 0.5 weeks for each year of service at £450

22 years to 40 years

1 week’s pay for each of service at £450

41 years and older

1.5 week’s pay for each of service at £450
